MATADEN softshell jacket is a windproof, water-repellent layer for children who need protection from spring showers and autumn breezes without the weight of a full winter coat. The three-layer construction combines a recycled polyester outer, a polyurethane membrane and a soft fleece backing in one fabric, blocking wind whilst keeping the inside comfortable against the skin. A detachable hood with press-stud fastening, an adjustable waist at the back and two front pockets suit nursery drop-offs, playground sessions and changeable outdoor days.
The 12,000 mm (WP) water column describes the outer fabric's resistance to rain, but the untaped seams mean the jacket is highly water-repellent rather than waterproof. Water can still enter through the seam construction during prolonged rain, so the jacket works best for light showers and windy conditions rather than heavy downpours. A fluorine-free Bionic Finish Eco treatment beads moisture off the surface, whilst 8,000 g/m²/24h breathability helps manage heat during active play.
